Carma Motorsports has recently embarked on the bottom-up restoration of a 1972 2000tii Touring. One of a reported roughly 25 remaining in the US, this unique classic BMW is going to be rebuilt and babied until it is both fully road and show worthy.
Currently, the Touring has been stripped bare, brought down to bare metal in all of the obviously rusty areas, and has begun major surgery to remove the cancerous rust and replace it with fresh metal, either from BMW Mobile Tradition sourced new parts or gently used parts donated from various scrapyards around the US.
